1. Controlled Storage Environment

Mineral wool tiles should never be treated like raw lumber or bricks. They require a protected environment:

  • Weatherproofing: Store cartons indoors, in a dry, watertight area. Exposure to rain or standing water will ruin the acoustic core and void the warranty.

  • Temperature & Humidity: Ideally, tiles should be stored in conditions close to the building’s final operating environment. Avoid areas with extreme temperature swings or high construction moisture (like near fresh concrete or wet plaster).

2. Proper Stacking Techniques

  • Wet trades (drywall taping, painting, or flooring) are still active in the area.

  • The HVAC system has not been operational for at least 48 hours.

Always inspect the cartons upon delivery. If you see "crushed corners" on the outside of the box, document it immediately. Even a small dent in the cardboard can mean a broken tegular edge on the mineral fiber board inside.
